There are many wonderful views and sites in the beautiful countryside that is Yorkshire, whether you have lived in Yorkshire your whole life or you frequently visit, you definitely need to visit Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal Water Garden – this place happens to be a world heritage site and once you visit you’ll realise why. York Minister is another bucket list item that needs to be checked off as soon as possible, this stunning piece of architecture was built in 1472 and its on the outside but even more so on the inside!
Most people don’t know that Yorkshire is actually the biggest county in the UK and is often nicknamed ‘God’s own County’ because of the vast amount of countryside. These countryside’s offer great hikes on the stunning moorland, towering peaks and even some rather intriguing limestone pavements in Malham. If hiking is not really your cup of tea and you’d much rather relax in front of a cosy log burner and experience a pint glass of some local ale then you make a stop in one of our traditional Yorkshire pubs, we recommend Tan Hill Inn, the highest pub in England.
If you somehow get bored of the vast amount of countryside we have, why not check out some of our most breath-taking beaches, from Runswick Bay, with its charming red roofed cottages and brightly coloured fishing boats all the way down to Kilnsea, a fantastic caravan location with fishing spots galore. Or head further in land and visit one of our more vibrant cities, Leeds, a fantastic city filled with quirky bars, independent shops and interesting music venues.
