Hog Roast Otley Hits A Six At The Cricket Club’s End-of-Season Bash!
On Saturday, Hog Roast Otley had the pleasure of catering for a local Yorkshire cricket club’s end-of-season celebration, and what a night it was! The club owners decided to go all out to wine and dine their members, and our caterers were thrilled to serve up our Alfresco Menu to the 250 ravenous guests.
With the excitement of the season behind them, it was time to relax, indulge, and celebrate in style—and our crew was ready to make it an unforgettable evening for all!
Hog Roast Otley’s team spent the entire afternoon prepping a flavoursome feast that had everyone’s taste buds tingling. At the heart of the meal was, of course, our famous hog roast! We slow-cooked the pork until it was juicy and flavourful, with crispy crackling that delivered the perfect crunch. Complemented by sage and onion stuffing and a sweet yet tangy applesauce, every bite was a flavour explosion! Guests also had the choice of gluten-free or wholemeal buns, served in charming wicker baskets, making the experience feel even more personalised.
But it didn’t stop there! The sides were just as incredible. Heritage tomato and mozzarella salad, a selection of seasonal leaves, homemade gourmet coleslaw, and buttered new potatoes ensured that no plate was left empty. As for the non-meat-eaters, we rustled up grilled vegetable and halloumi skewers with tzatziki dip and flatbreads—because everyone deserves something delicious to dive into!
The dining hall itself looked amazing. Elegant floral arrangements, crisp white linens, and real crockery and cutlery added a touch of sophistication to the space. The finishing touch on each table was Hog Roast Otley’s stunning charcuterie boards. Brimming with Italian meats, cheeses, artisan breads, olives, and dressings, these gorgeous platters were not only a hit with the eyes but also brought people together as they nibbled and mingled.
As the night unfolded, a DJ kept the energy alive with great tunes, and many guests couldn’t resist hitting the dance floor – if we weren’t cooking, we’d have been up there too! But the evening wasn’t just about the food and fun—the club also held a silent auction and raffle, raising money for charity through generous donations from attendees.
To top it all off, we rolled out dessert—profiteroles smothered in rich chocolate sauce and a zesty tarte au citron drizzled with a fruity coulis. Needless to say, Hog Roast Otley’s food was a smash hit, and everyone left with full bellies and huge smiles!
