From Pitch to Plate – Hog Roast Wakefield Wins Over Football Fans
Hog Roast Wakefield is reporting in after a buzzing start to the summer season! With back-to-back weddings, garden BBQs, and all sorts of special events keeping us busy lately, we’ve barely had a moment to catch our breath – but trust us, it’s been so worth it.
If you know Hog Roast Wakefield, you’ll know we love nothing more than a jam-packed diary. And helping our customers and clients get the most out of their events with show-stopping flavours is a privilege we’d never take for granted.
One of our recent highlights? Catering a local football club’s summer ball, where 250 guests gathered on a sunny Saturday afternoon for a celebration packed with music, dancing, and some seriously good food.
Thankfully, the weather had cleared up just in time, though event planner Marcus played it safe and booked a massive marquee to provide cover ‘just in case’. Wise move! Inside, the space was decked out with black and gold balloons, a full table setup for everyone, and a proud display of the team’s awards from the season. Some of the attendees had even gone to the trouble of bringing baked goods from home, which were set out for guests to help themselves to.
The live music kept spirits high and feet moving, while Hog Roast Wakefield kept stomachs full with our crowd-favourite hog roast sandwiches. Soft floury baps, stuffed with juicy pulled pork, crispy pork scratchings, and sage and onion stuffing – who could say no to that?
Guests were able to top off their sandwiches with our homemade applesauce or a selection from our trusty Sauce Shop range (we never leave home without them!), which added even more flavour to the feast.
On the side, we served up butcher’s sausages, marinated chicken thighs, creamy coleslaw, fresh seasonal salad leaves, pasta salad, and a mix of sweet potato and classic fries. We also made sure our vegetarian and vegan guests were looked after with grilled veggie kebabs, optional halloumi chunks, flatbreads, and a refreshing tzatziki dip.
The feedback? Incredible. With plenty of food to go around, guests were more than happy to go back for seconds – and honestly, we wouldn’t expect anything less from a team of hungry footballers!
